40 year old Puneet Khurana was found unconscious in his house. He was admitted to BJRM Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. There was a mark of a rope on Puneet’s neck.
Delhi’s cafe owner had hanged himself on December 31 due to divorce from his wife and dispute over business. New revelations are continuously being made in this case.
According to NDTV report, cafe owner Punit Khurana had called his wife Manika Pahwa a day before hanging himself. There was talk between the two for 15 minutes.
During the call, wife Manika said-
Beggar, I don’t even want to see your face. If you come in front of me, I will slap you. If the divorce is going through, will you remove me from the business? Now you will say that if I threaten you then you will commit suicide. We are getting a divorce, but I am still the business partner, my dues need to be paid.
In response to this, Puneet said- All this does not matter now. Just tell me what you want.
40-year-old cafe owner Puneet had also released a 59-minute video before suicide. In this he had accused his wife and in-laws of harassment.
The video is currently with the police. Police said that Puneet was about to divorce his wife. The divorce process was going on. There was also a dispute going on between the two regarding the cafe.
Puneet Khurana got married in 2016. He lived in Model Town area of Delhi.
Video before suicide, said- Wife tortured…
Puneet Khurana had made a 59-minute video before suicide. In this he made serious allegations against his wife and in-laws.
Puneet Khurana said in the video- I am going to commit suicide because my in-laws and my wife are harassing me a lot. We have filed for divorce with mutual consent. Obviously, when it comes to divorce by mutual consent, certain conditions have to be signed in the court.
Puneet said- We have to fulfill those conditions within the period of 180 days, but my in-laws and my wife are pressurizing me with new conditions, which are beyond my scope. They are asking for another Rs 10 lakh, which I do not have. I can’t even ask from the parents, because they have already given a lot of money. Puneet’s mother has said that there was a rift between the two regarding money transactions. Never told us. On Tuesday, Puneet’s wife once again tortured my son so much that he took such a drastic step. I want justice for my son.
At the same time, the sister of the deceased alleges that the accused woman and her family tortured her. There is a video recording of about 59 minutes, in which Puneet has narrated the atrocities that happened to him. The woman had also hacked Puneet’s social media account.
Comparison with Atul Subhash’s case
Puneet’s suicide is being compared to the suicide case of Bengaluru’s technical engineer Atul Subhash. Atul committed suicide in December. He left a 24-page suicide note, in which he accused his wife and her relatives of harassment. According to the last video that went viral, Atul committed suicide because of his wife Nikita and her family. At present all three are in the custody of Bengaluru Police.

A case of 306 (abetment of suicide) has been registered against Nikita in Bengaluru. Now Nikita will have to go to his hearing also. This case is new against him. In the rest of Jaunpur, they will have to come to every hearing for their cases like before.
There is a hearing on January 12, 2025 in a case related to Atul and Nikita’s son. Whereas, the next date of the second case of dowry harassment and violence is January 29, 2025.
