CBI arrests TRAI research official bribe Noida Delhi Sirmour Cable operator Shimla | CBI caught TRAI officer taking bribe: Action on complaint of Himachal cable operator; Senior officer asked for bribe of Rs 1 lakh – Shimla News

CBI has arrested a TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) Delhi official with bribery on the complaint of a cable operator working in Himachal. Accused Senior. Research officer Narendra Singh Rawat had demanded a bribe of one lakh rupees from the complainant.

According to the information, CBI lodged an FIR in Delhi on January 1 on the complaint of a cable operator. After this a net was laid to catch him. CBI arrested the accused officer with bribe money in Naoroji Naggar, Delhi. CBI also raided the accused officer’s residence and office in Greater Noida and seized documents and files related to the case.

The officer had demanded bribe from the cable operator in Sirmaur

It is being told that a TRAI official had demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a license holder of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India for operating cable services in Sirmaur district of Himachal. Other 5 license holder cable operators of the state had also already given documents related to corruption against the concerned officer of TRAI to CBI. The accused officer had warned of canceling their licenses.

Officer recommends license of cable operator

In fact, the accused officer recommends to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India to cancel or continue the licenses of cable operators. The cable operator has to submit a progress report to the ministry every three months as per TRAI guidelines. This is also made on the recommendation of the officer.

CBI caught red handed

CBI laid a trap to catch the accused and arrested him red handed. One lakh rupees from the complainant at his Delhi office at Naroji Nagar, New Delhi. CBI searched the residential and official premises of the accused in Greater Noida and New Delhi, in which incriminating documents were recovered. Investigation is ongoing.
