‘Bangalore stampede will be arrested’, said CM Siddaramaiah, police commissioner to police station in -charge

RCB Victory Parade Stampede: During the RCB Victory Parade, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has taken a big action in the case of a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Many police officers as well as the cricket stadium in-charge have fallen.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said, “Police Inspector, Station House Master, Station House Officer, ACP, Central Division DCP, Cricket Stadium in -charge, Additional Police Commissioner, Police Commissioner have been suspended with immediate effect.”

‘Those responsible for the stampede should be arrested immediately’

He added, “We have constituted a member commission under the chairmanship of retired judge of the High Court Justice Michael D’Kunha. We have decided to arrest RCB, event manager DNA, KSCA, who represented him.” CM Siddaramaiah said that the incident of yesterday was discussed in detail in the cabinet meeting. We have asked to report in 30 days. At the same time, the DGP and IGP of the state have been instructed that RCB representative and person representing KSCA should be arrested immediately.

Investigation of case handed over to CID

The Karnataka government told the High Court that the investigation of stampede in front of the Chinnaswamy Stadium has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). A special investigation team (SIT) will be formed under CID to conduct intensive and independent investigation. The government submitted a status report to the court, which confirmed that an FIR (crime number 123/2025) has been lodged at the Kabban Park Police Station under several sections of the Indian Code, including sections 105, 125 (1) (2), 132, 121/1 and 3 (5) read with sections 190. It states that the matter has now been formally handed over to the CID and instructions have been given to set up an SIT for further action.
