In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday, a first year MBBS student committed suicide by jumping from the hostel building. The police have registered a case in this regard. Further investigation continues.
After this incident, Dr. Arvind Sharma, Superintendent of Jabalpur Medical College Hospital, told PTI that 20 -year -old Shivansh Gupta jumped from the third floor of the hostel number 4 of the boys of the government Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and the hospital.
Superintendent Dr. Arvind Sharma further informed that he was taken to the hospital in critical condition due to several injuries on the head and neck. His batchmates have claimed that Shivansh was depressed, citing WhatsApp messages. A student had also tried to stop him, but by then Shivansh jumped.
The Superintendent of the Medical College Hospital said that he was a resident of Rewa district. Sub Inspector Yogendra Singh of Gadha police station told PTI that a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is going on.
