Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra on Thursday confirmed his marriage to former BJD MP Pinaki Mishra. This news made a lot of headlines on political corridors as well as social media. Mahua shared a picture while cutting a couple’s cake on X (former Twitter) and wrote, “Thank you for all of you for love and best wishes! I am very grateful.”
Both of them got married in a private ceremony in Germany. The wedding picture of Mahua and Pinaki went viral, in which both of them were seen holding each other’s hand. In the evening, Mahua herself shared the picture confirming this. In the photo, Mahua is wearing gold and light pink colored saree.

50 -year -old Mahua Moitra has been a former investment banker. She started politics with the Indian Youth Congress and joined TMC in 2010. She currently became MP from Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal.
Mahua Moitra became a part of a major controversy in 2023, when he was accused of raising questions in Parliament by allegedly cash and gifts from merchant Darshan Hiranandani.
The investigation was conducted after a complaint by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and former friend and lawyer Jai Anant Dehdrai of Moitra and he was expelled from Parliament. Despite this, he returned to the Lok Sabha by winning the election again in 2024.
Pinaki Mishra is a 65 -year -old Supreme Court’s senior advocate and has been a four -time MP from Puri in Odisha. He has been a senior leader of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). They were also already married. He was first elected MP in 1996. After this, he was an MP from 2009 to 2019. Pinaki is a senior advocate of the Supreme Court. He has a long political and legal career of about three decades. He has also been a member of many high profile committees.
