INS Arnala was handed over to the Indian Navy on 8 May.

The Indian Navy is scheduled to commission the country’s first anti-Saberine Warfare Shailo Water Craft (ASW-SWC) Arnala on 18 June at Visakhapatnam’s Navy Dokyard. The Chief Guest of the Commission Ceremony will be CDS General Anil Chauhan.

INS Arnala was handed over to the Indian Navy on 8 May. However, this commissioning ceremony symbolizes the first inclusion of the ship in the 16 ASW-SWC category ships into the Indian Navy.

Messrs Gardens Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Kolkata and Messrs L&T Shipbuilders designed and created under Public Private Partnership (PPP) are proof of self -sufficient India’s success in the Arnala Defense sector.

It has been named after the historic Arnala Fort in Vasai, Maharashtra. The ship is designed for a strong presence of the Navy in the Indian Ocean. Which will detect, track and deactivate enemy submarines in shallow water.
