Us immigration protest: On Friday and Saturday (6-7 June 2025) in the US Los Angeles, there has been a conflict between paramount protesters and federal agents. In response to the raids conducted by the US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE), thousands of protesters took to the streets, who protested by writing on placards on placards like ‘ice out’.
The protesters have recorded footage on the smartphone, in which the protesters are seen waving the Mexican flag and some covered their face with masks. The online video showed that a portion of Bulleward had to be closed due to increasing tension between protesters and federal agents.
Trump administration strict action: 2,000 national guard deployment
Following the conflict incidents, the Trump administration announced the deployment of 2,000 National Guard soldiers on Saturday (7 June 2025). Trump’s border chief Tom Homan confirmed this on Fox News, which aims to assist fresher agents and strengthen the crowd control. President Trump said in his response on Truth Social that the federal government will intervene if the Governor of California and the Mayor of Los Angeles cannot do their work. It is clear from this statement that the federal government now intends to take action on its terms instead of the state.
What is the reaction of California on Trump’s decision?
California Governor Gavin Newsmam deliberately inflammatory of the Trump administration. He believes that this step is more instigator than to calm the situation. In the perspective of the state government and the local administration, the huge presence of federal forces and the deployment of weapons armed soldiers are similar to a political power display, which raises a question mark on the security situation of the state.
The biggest conflict in paramount
The biggest confrontation occurred in Paramount, where hundreds of people came out on the streets after Ice’s raids. Federal agents used tear gas and flashbang to control the crowd. The situation worsened when the protesters gathered outside a federal facility, where they damaged the public property and cut tires of some vehicles. This unrest emerged directly resulting in 44 arrests on Friday and the target immigration raids from the ICE.
