Khalistan supporters in Canada have targeted an independent journalist. The Canadian journalist alleges that while reporting a rally in Vancouver on Sunday, a group of supporters attacked and threatened him. Journalist Mocha Bezirgan said that he was targeted for the previous coverage of protests related to his editorial Freedom and Khalistan.

The incident occurred when Bezirgan was in the city to cover a rally organized by Khalistan supporters. He alleged that the attackers treated like goons and deliberately targeted him. Bezirgan shared her objection on X and said, ‘This is just 2 hours ago and I am still trembling. I was surrounded by many Khalistanis, who were behaving like goons. They surrounded me, threatened, beat me up and snatched my phone from my hand.
The journalist alleged that he was attacked by a person who had been trolling him for a long time and was using inhuman language. Bezirgan said, ‘I have been covering Khalistan protests in Canada, Britain, America, New Zealand. My only objective is to do independent journalism and record what is happening and because I am editorfully independent, some people are disappointed. ‘ He further alleged that the pro -Khalistan group wanted to buy them.
Journalist prevented from coverage
While sharing a video of the incident, Bezirgan said, “These threatening strategies will not stop me or will not affect my editorial Freedom.” In this video, a person is seen fighting with a journalist. Bezirgan told, ‘He refused to keep a distance from my face and threatened me that if I touched her, he would do violence. I kept going away from him, but the behavior of his harassment did not stop. He wandered after me, instigating others to obstruct my work and despite asking me to stay away, he followed me.

He said that the alleged attacker had attacked him earlier and at that time he had filed a report with the police. He told that he has filed another report today. India has repeatedly accused Canada of allegedly giving open exemption to Khalistani extremists and their supporters. Bilateral relations between the two countries have deteriorated in recent times, mainly due to Canadian inactivity on this issue.
