Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has not written any letter to the Election Commission even after 24 hours after making allegations of rigging in the Maharashtra assembly elections held in November last year. Nor has been sought time for the meeting. A source associated with the Election Commission told this to the news agency ANI.

According to the source, Rahul says on one side that his issues are serious, but when it comes to writing letters to the Election Commission, he shies away. According to the procedure, any constitutional body will formally answer only when Rahul Gandhi writes him to write a letter.

Sources claimed that 10.5 lakh booth level officers, 50 lakh polling officers and 1 lakh counting supervisors across the country are also disappointed with the allegations being made by Rahul Gandhi, who question their honesty and hard work.

On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi wrote on X- ‘AAP (Election Commission) is a constitutional body. The method of answering serious questions by issuing notes and evasive notes is not correct. If you have nothing to hide, answer my questions and prove it. ‘

In response, the Commission termed the claims of rigging in the voting of Rahul’s Maharashtra elections as baseless and said that unfounded allegations against Maharashtra’s voter list are insult to the rule of law.

On asking for CCTV footage, the Commission said- Why do they want to encroach the confidentiality of voters

On the demand for CCTV footage, sources said, “As per the instructions of the Election Commission, the CCTV footage of the polling stations can be investigated in any election petition. This is done to maintain the integrity of the election as well as the confidentiality of the voters. Why does Rahul Gandhi himself or his agents want to encroach this secrecy.
