Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has busted a vicious gang, who was cheating millions by pretending to be admitted to the Territorial Army. The team of STF Agra Field Unit took action on Saturday and arrested three gang members.
The arrest was made from ISBT located in Tipinagar police station area of Hariparvat Commissionerate, where the three accused were caught with fake documents and cash. The arrested accused have been identified as Ajay Kumar, a resident of Firozabad, Kulwant Singh and Sunil Kumar, residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to STF officials, this gang used to take the youth of Jammu and Punjab by showing documents like fake appointment letters and medical test pass gate pass. In return, he used to charge a hefty amount of up to 14 lakh rupees. This amount was transferred online to the bank account of a person named Deepak Sharma.
A large quantity of fake documents have been recovered from this gang. These include Aadhaar card, voter ID, Ayushman card, appointment letter, medical test pass gate pass, mobile phone and cash. The documents seemed so real that anyone could easily come to their deception.
The investigation of STF also revealed that this gang used to prepare fake recruitment notifications with the help of two persons named Ranjit Yadav and Deepak Sharma. Through these fake advertisements, the unemployed and youth who dreamed of entering the army were targeted. As soon as a young man comes in a bluff, lakhs of rupees were charged in installments in the name of involving him in the medical and recruitment process.
In this network of cheating, every member was given commission according to his work. The main gangster used to give fixed amount to the members of the gang. So far, dozens of youth have been cheated. The STF has filed a case against the three at the Hariparvat police station. At present, the local police is investigating further.
This action of STF has come at a time when there is a lot of enthusiasm among the youth across the country regarding recruitment in the army. In such a situation, this matter is not only playing with the dreams of unemployed youth, but is also going to hurt the dignity of national security institutions. STF says that other gang members are being searched.
