Meghalaya’s Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh made this statement on 8 June. On the other hand, his fellow cabinet minister Alexander Lalu Heg in the cabinet had said- ‘If no one has trust in the Meghalaya Police, he can go to the central or international agencies. We have no objection. ‘

Both ministers were so confident about the investigation of the SIT, because after five days of investigation, the SIT had raised important clues in the case. In fact, only after the king’s body was found, the Meghalaya government had formed an SIT to investigate the case. The SIT’s purpose was to find the missing Sonam.

It was named ‘Operation Honeymoon’ and formed 5 teams for it. As the team engaged in the operation started gathering evidence, the suspicion of Sonam went deepening. Bhaskar, after talking to the characters associated with Operation Honeymoon, understood how the SIT teams gathered evidence and what happened in 9 hours on the day of murder? Read report

15 officers involved in operation honeymoon On June 2, as soon as the king’s body was found lying in the ditch, the Meghalaya Police was convinced that this case is not so easy. Talking to Bhaskar, Meghalaya’s Home Minister Preston Tensang says that the murder of one of the couple who came for a honeymoon and the disappearance of the other was a matter of concern for us.

The biggest concern was that this incident could affect our state tourism business. He said-There are 1.3 million tourists every year in Meghalaya. The large part of the state’s economy rests on tourism, so we immediately formed the SIT to investigate the entire matter.

Now know about the five teams.

First team: Complete analysis of the day of murder

The Raja’s postmortem report and his mobile activation revealed that the king was killed on 23 May itself. Sonam spoke to her mother -in -law shortly before the murder. In this conversation, the mother -in -law asked Sonam about the king, then she said that she went ahead and I was left behind.

However, according to the guide’s statement, Sonam did not have much distance from the king and three youths. At the same time, the police matched the timing of dying in Raja’s postmortem report and the timing of Sonam’s mother -in -law. This revealed that when Sonam spoke to her mother -in -law (May 23, 1.43 pm), the king was killed only after half an hour.

Clues: Homestay operator came to know that Sonam had planned a checkout at 5:30 in the morning. He lied to the mother -in -law about fasting, while she had eaten a lot.

Second team: responsibility to gather CCTV footage Raja and Sonam reached Shillong on 21st. Here he took a room in a hotel. On May 22, the two left for Sohra. In Sohra, a hotel built near the police station arrived to get a room, but there was no place in the hotel. He placed his belongings in the hotel and went out for a walk.

On the same day, both reached the village of Mavalakiyat and rented a scooter to see the living route bridge in Nongriyat village of Sohra police station area. According to the police, they stopped at home stay for one night and checked out the next day to return to Mavalkiat. The police started scrutinizing CCTV footage to trail this route of both.

Clues: The police received the CCTV of Raja and Sonam to reach a hotel by scooter. In this footage, some of Sonam’s activities were suspicious. When the king was inside the hotel, Sonam came out and sent messages to someone from mobile. After this she went inside and both came out together. Sonam was then sending messages to someone from mobile and Raja was starting scooty.

It is clearly visible that Sonam came out alone and sent a message from mobile.

This second picture in which there is also a king and Sonam goes away and sends a message to someone and comes to the king.

Third team: Mobile call detail analysis This team started investigating the call details of Sonam and Raja’s numbers. Sonam’s call detail revealed that Sonam Raj used to talk to a boy named Kushwaha for hours. Whether this was hidden from the king or not, the police did not know this. Sonam’s mobile was closed after May 23, but Raj Kushwaha’s number was active.

His select numbers were constantly being talked about. The police took these numbers on surveillance. Saw whether these numbers were active in Meghalaya or not. Later, a team of Meghalaya Police also reached Indore, but these boys did not meet at home.

Clues: Technical analysis revealed that these numbers were active around the day the Raj-Sonam Meghalaya came. Messages were also sent to any one of these numbers from Sonam’s number.

Where the king’s body was found, the search team also found broken mobiles.

Fourth team: Local guide and locals gather inputs

A team worked to raise input from local guide, homestay operators and local people. The same team was told by Albert Pad, a guide of Mawlakhiyat that at 10 am on May 23, he had seen Raja and Sonam with three other tourists from Nongriyat to Mawlakiyat. The three tourists were leading with the king, while Sonam was behind.

They were all talking in Hindi. He could not understand what they were saying. Albert also told that a day earlier he asked him whether he needed a guide to climb to Nongriyat, he refused and took the service of another fellow guard.

Clues: The team that analyzed CCTV got another footage in which these three boys were seen on the evening of 22 May. He showed him to Albert, he identified one of them.

Albert Pad of Mavalakiyat in a red T-shirt. Albert told the police about Sonam.

Fifth team- Analysis of social media posts A team was asked to analyze the social media accounts of Sonam and Raja. Actually, couples coming on honeymoon often upload photos of honeymoon on their social media accounts. The police wanted to try to trace their last location through this, because it was not possible to reach the gap in which the king’s body was found.

The police theory was that after killing the king, the accused threw the corpse into the ditch and took Sonam with him. When the police searched the accounts of both of them, there was not a single picture of them. While he went to visit many places where couples often take selfies. When the police made a psychological assessment, it was found that everything was not good between Sonam and Raja.

Clues: Raja and Sonam’s mobile closed together on the afternoon of 23 May. Earlier, a post was done at 2 pm from the king’s Instagram account, in which the seven births were written…. The police suspected it because earlier Sonam did not share a single post with the king.
