New Delhi. When India takes the field against England from June 20, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin will not be with him. Due to the absence of these veterans, many experts are accepting India’s claim of victory. But Sourav Ganguly hopes to win India. Ganguly says that the Indian team only needs two things- good batting and fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah fit.
Ganguly gave the example of India’s historic Test series victory in Australia in 2020-21, when India won the Melbourne Test under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane if Kohli and Rohit did not live. Despite this victory, it was won that the first match of the India series was badly lost. Ganguly said, ‘We had won the match with young batting line-up in Melbourne (20-21), in which Kohli and Rohit Sharma were not. So I do not think that we cannot win here.
Sourav Ganguly also says, ‘I do not believe in things like favorite. However, England is in a slightly better position. But if India does a good batting, then it also has a chance. Ganguly believes that India’s batting line-up is inexperienced, but it is not a hindrance in defeating England. He said, ‘At this time there is inexperienced batting line-up on paper. But the matter is different on the field. England is a good Test team with Root, Brook, Stokes, Docket, Jamie Smith and Bordon Cars. Still, if the Indian team works hard and Bumrah is fit for four Tests, then we can win the series.
