India over china space power: Even though India has won a decisive victory over Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, there is increasing concern about China’s surveillance and space capabilities in front of the Indian Air Force. Because China has recently brought the whole world into a cans by carrying out the drill of satellite’s ‘dog fight’ in space. This was revealed by the Chief of Integrated Defense Staff (CIDS) Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit.
On Wednesday (June 11), Air Marshal Dixit was addressing a seminar organized by the Center for Air Power Studies (CPS) in the capital Delhi. During this, CIDS clearly stated that during the operation vermilion, the whole world has seen that indigenous military equipment has performed higher than the international benchmark. Air Marshal specifically mentioned the Air Force’s Integrated Air Command and Control System (ISCS) and the sky system of the Army.
Deep-survival needs- Air Marshal Dixit
Speaking on the usefulness of surveillance and electro-optical sensor during the war, Air Marshal Dixit said that the operation has become clear from the vermilion that who will first see in war-zone, look far and see accurate, the same will be heavy on the enemy. The CIDS said Operation Sindoor has forced the military strategist to think that Beyond Vijuel range missiles and self-drone attacks, including prests, hammers and BrahMos missiles, do not have any matter. In such a situation, deep-survival is needed.
Concern over China’s growing surveillance capabilities
The Chief of Integrated Defense Staff (CIDS), who worked as a link to coordination and cooperation between the Army, Air Force and the Navy, however, expressed concern over China’s growing surveillance capabilities. Air Marshal Dixit said that China had 36 satellites in the year 2010. But now (in 2024) China has about 1000 satellites. Of these, 360 have been deployed for ISR i.e. Intelligence, Surveillance and Recognition. Last year, China has created a separate aerospace force (command).
Satellite’s dog-fight manuver
According to Air Marshal Dixit, recently China carried out the dog-fight manuver of satellite in low meaning orbit (Leo). In this drill, China practiced to track the enemy’s satellite and jam. China has linked its ISR satellites to the weapon system. In view of China’s increasing strength in space of China, CIDS also emphasized on the Network Center for Surveillance Data to be collected from water, land, sky, space and cyber domain through AI in India.
