A sensational case has come to light from Padisal village in Khairthal district of Rajasthan. Here the married woman Manja Devi (25) committed suicide by getting fed up with conversion and in -laws harassment. Before the death, Manja made a emotional video, in which she made serious allegations against her husband Laxman Rajput and other in -laws. In the video, Manja cried crying that he was being pressurized to adopt Christianity, the idols of his Gods were broken and he was physically and mentally tortured.

According to the information, Manja was married on 21 January 2025 to Hindu customs to Laxman Rajput, resident of Padisal village of Khairthal. At the wedding, father Uday Singh also gave dowry as per the demand of the in -laws, but within a few months of marriage, the pressure of conversion started on Manja. According to the allegations, the idols of his Gods were thrown out of the house and longing for food and drink. He also faced assault and physical abuse.

When Manja told this to his family, he tried to reconcile by doing a panchayat with the panchs of the village. But the in -laws remained adamant on the insistence of conversion and escaped from the house, not obeying the matter. The mentally broken manja returned to Talimpur village in Bayana in her maternal home. He committed suicide by hanging himself from Chunni on Saturday.

Woman recorded video before dying

According to family members, Manja recorded a video before dying, in which he demanded a harsh punishment against the in -laws and said that the same people are responsible for his death. On receiving the information of the incident, Bayana Deputy SP Krishnaraj Singh has started investigating the case. The police have registered an FIR in sections such as forcing them to convert, dowry harassment and abetment to suicide on the complaint of the deceased’s father. Police is investigating CCTV footage, mobile records and viral videos.

Manja Devi’s family said that he explained to the in -laws’ side several times but he remained adamant on his insistence. In such a situation, there is a demand from the administration that the accused should be punished severely. This is not the first time that a case of conversion has come up in Khairthal district. A few months ago, many such videos were revealed in which the conversion of the local people was said. Then the police had also arrested some people, but within a few days the matter became calm.

Now after the suicide of Manja Devi, this debate of conversion has once again intensified in political and social corridors. Human rights organizations and the Women’s Commission have also demanded intervention on the matter. The police have done the post -mortem of the deceased and handed over the dead body to the relatives and further investigation is going on.
