The Supreme Court has taken a strict stand on the release of Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’ in Karnataka. The court transferred the pending petition to the Karnataka High Court and will hear this on Thursday (June 19, 2025). The court asked the state government to file an answer by tomorrow. The Supreme Court has also objected to that in which the High Court advised Kamal Hasan to apologize to the people of Karnataka. & Nbsp;
The judges said, ‘After getting the CBFC certificate, no film can be prevented from being released. If someone has problems with Kamal Haasan’s statement, then he can issue a statement on his behalf in his response. The issue may be debated, but by making an excuse for fierce opposition, the state government cannot exhale from the responsibility of ensuring the performance of the film. ‘
The Supreme Court also objected that during the hearing, the High Court advised the people associated with the film to apologize to the residents of Karnataka. The Supreme Court said that it is not the job of the High Court to do so.
