Ahmedabad plane crash cricketer death: A 23 -year -old cricketer also died of people who lost their lives in a flight to London from Ahmedabad. DIRD Patel who played cricket from Leeds Modernians Cricket Club in England. The Air India was among the 241 people killed in the Air India accident on Thursday (June 12). The flight left for London from Ahmedabad, but crashed shortly after flying.
23 -year -old Dirda Patel, a resident of Gujarat, completed his Masters in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Hudersfield. He was soon to start a career in the tech industry. Patel, studying at Hadersfield University, was one of the 242 people aboard the flight number AI171 of Air India, leaving for London’s Gatwick Airport on 12 June from Ahmedabad. He was originally from Gujarat.
According to the BBC, Dr. George Bargianis, the old lecturer of Dird Patel, described him as a “very special person”, who scored the most marks in his course. Dr. Bargianis, who is a professor of Artificial Intelligence in the University School of Computing and Engineering of the University, said- I knew the day not only for studies, but also for his warmth, passion and enthusiasm.
Dr. Bargianis further said- God was always eager to know something new. After the class, he used to ask me such questions that showed his deep understanding and hard work. It was the specialty in it that he could see a big picture and understood how his studies could be useful in real life.
Dr. Bargianis also told that he was in touch even after graduation of Goddess. He said- The departure of the day reminds how fragile life is. My condolences are with his family, friends, classmates and all those who knew him. His memories will always inspire us.
Cricket club also expressed grief
Dird Patel was a talented all -rounder and played as a foreign player for England’s Leeds Modernians Cricket Club in the 2024 season. The club expressed deep grief over his death and said- We are all saddened by this news. We have condolences with the family members and all the people who know them.
A spokesperson for AIREREDALE and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League said that Derad was planning to play cricket again after starting his new job. His brother Kritik has played for the first Pool Cricket Club. Both clubs paid tribute to them by keeping a minute’s silence before the weekend match.
