Several senior officers including Iran Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Chief Commander Hussain Salami have been killed by the Israeli army. On Friday, Mohammad Bagheri, Khamat Al-Anbia Commander Ghulam Ali Rashid and IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Aamir Ali Hajizadeh were also killed. Along with this, Ali Shadmani, who replaced Ghulam Ali Rashid in the recent airstrikes on Tuesday, was also blown up.
IRGC is a specific military force separated from Iran’s army. Soon after the 1979 Islamic revolution, it was formed by the supreme leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khamouni. This military institution has the responsibility of preserving Iran’s Islamic rule, which protects it from internal and external threats. The role of IRGC during the Islamic revolution was to protect the Shia Maulvi rule of the time. It worked closely with Iran’s traditional army. At that time, he punished many such leaders who were considered loyal to the exiled Shah.

In other countries, IRGC of several rebel organizations provided training and other facilities. The IRGC expanded greatly after Iraq’s invasion of Iran. It is said that IRGC also has a major stake in the Iranian economy. They are partners in both legal and illegal institutions. His commanders also have real estate in Tehran. IRGC has a branch, Kuds Force, which is active in campaigns outside Iran. In 1989, Ali Khamenei, who was the successor of Khomaini, formed the Kuds force, which was responsible for its foreign campaigns. Kuds works with Hizbullah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. The training of Hizbullah and Hamas fighter is also done by the soldiers of IRGC and Kuds Force. The Kuds Force has been accused of providing resources and training to Hizbullah of Lebanon, Huti of Yemen and Hamas. These are all Shia Military Organizations.
