IRGC is a specific military force separated from Iran’s army. Soon after the 1979 Islamic revolution, it was formed by the supreme leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khamouni. This military institution has the responsibility of preserving Iran’s Islamic rule, which protects it from internal and external threats. The role of IRGC during the Islamic revolution was to protect the Shia Maulvi rule of the time. It worked closely with Iran’s traditional army. At that time, he punished many such leaders who were considered loyal to the exiled Shah.

The IRGC initially started functioning as a domestic army. Then in the coming time, it also started on its campaign outside the border of Iran and started missions to raise the gathering of Islamic rule. In other countries, IRGC of several rebel organizations provided training and other facilities. The IRGC expanded greatly after Iraq’s invasion of Iran. Apart from its Army Unit, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini also prepared the Navy and Air Force Wing.

The group oversees Iran’s ballistic missile project. Under this patronage, there were many missile tests which have access to Israel. This is the reason why IRGC commanders are on the target of Israel.

Dominate power, trade and governance in Iran
