The Supreme Court has ordered the safety of a 16 -year -old girl who escaped from home after child marriage against her will. The girl from Bihar had told that she and the friend who helped him are in danger of life. They are being tortured by making an FIR against the whole family of a friend.
The petition of a girl living in Pipalwa police station area of ​​Patna said that she wanted to study, but she was married before she took the matriculation examination. After marriage in December 2024, she was forcibly sent to a village in Bhojpur district where she has her in -laws. The husband is about 32-33 years old. He constantly tortures her. It also says that his father has taken a loan from him, so, he will keep it with him.
After pleading a lot, he was allowed to come to his maternal uncle with his maternal uncle to take matriculation examination. Even under adverse circumstances, he passed the exam from the second division. Soon after, preparations started to send her in -laws. On 31 March, she escaped with the help of a friend of her. After this, an FIR for kidnapping was lodged against the friend and his family. This FIR was done by the girl’s family. In this the fact was hidden that she was married.
It has been told in the petition that a friend’s father has also been arrested to pressurize both of them to return. The girl’s husband is most saying that he will kill her as soon as the girl is found. The girl has told that she is constantly hiding in fear of these things. His marriage is illegal under the child marriage prohibition law. She wants to apply to the civil court to cancel this, but it is not possible for her to go to her city.
In the Supreme Court, the case came in front of Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan and a vacation bench of Justice Manmohan. The judges, who have already read the petition, ordered the safety of the girl and her friend after a brief hearing. The court has asked the DGP of Bihar and the Police Commissioner of Delhi to ensure the safety of both. Also, on the petition, a notice has been issued to the Bihar government, the girl’s mother and her husband. The next hearing of the case will be held on 15 July.
