On March 14, the Delhi HC judge’s government bungalow was on fire. There firefighters found sacks filled with burnt 500 rupee notes.

The report of the panel investigating the cash case found from Justice Yashwant Verma’s house has come out. It states that High Court Judge Yashwant Verma and his family members had a secret or active control on the store room. It was here that a large amount of half -edged notes were found after the fire on the night of 14 March.

The panel report states that it shows Justice Verma’s misconduct, which is so serious that he should be removed. At the time of the incident, Justice Verma was a judge of the Delhi High Court and is now working in the Allahabad High Court.

A panel of three judges headed by Chief Justice Sheel Nagu of Punjab and Haryana High Court investigated for 10 days. 55 witnesses were questioned and visited the official residence of Justice Verma.

The report also said, keeping in mind the evidence on the record, the committee agrees that there are enough facts in the allegations made in the CJI’s 22 March letter. The misconduct is so serious that action should be initiated to remove Justice Verma.
