Pathum Nisanka played a brilliant innings.

New Delhi. The Sri Lankan cricket team has given a befitting reply to Bangladesh in the Gaul Test match. In response to 495 runs scored by Bangladesh in the first innings, the hosts scored 368 runs for 4 wickets till the third day. Sri Lanka’s team is now behind Bangladesh by 127 runs. While his 6 wickets are safe. Nisanka played a brilliant innings of 187 runs for Sri Lanka. Which is his highest score in Test matches and his first century on home earth. Nisanka’s innings was a sample of patience and aggression, which included 256 balls. From the first over, he was confident and both dominated the invasion of Bangladesh on new balls.

Pathum Nisanka shared 47 runs with Lahiru Udara, who made his debut, 157 with Dinesh Chandimal, 89 with Angelo Mathews and 38 runs with Kamindu Mendis. The only moment of relief for Bangladesh came at the end of the day, when the second new ball distinguished Nisanka’s defense with the help of some reverse swing and a walled seam. Hasan Mahmood bowled a fast in-off the ball which slipped from the bat and the pad and dismissed the Sri Lankan opener. Due to which Nisanka missed the first double century.
