Ashwin’s mother Chitra described Dhoni’s innings of 54 runs against Kings XI Punjab in 2010, which reached CSK knockout and Ashwin won the title by taking wickets.
Ashwin’s mother gave full credit to Dhoni.
New Delhi. Chitra Ravichandran, mother of former Indian cricketer Ashwin, believes that MS Dhoni has played a big role in his son’s career. Not only Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and captaincy for India, but also batting. In the third episode of his player documentary series ‘The Making of’ on CSK’s YouTube channel, Chitra remembered Dhoni’s innings of 54 runs in 29 balls. In 2010, he played against Kings XI Punjab.
Chitra further said, “We should not forget that IPL presented Ashwin’s talent to the world. Ashwin’s wife, Prithi said,” So, we just wanted him to go to a place where he was happy. And he has played under pressure for so many years, and he has had to bear a lot. In the 2025 auction, Ashwin was included in 9.75 crores by CSK.
Let us know that before the playoffs of IPL 2015, Ashwin had already taken 12 wickets. Which included bowling Kumar Sangakkara against PBKs in that match of Dharamshala. In the semi -finals, Ashwin took an important wicket of Andrew Symonds against Deccan Chargers and put four overs economical spell for 24 runs in the final. Ashwin played for CSK till 2015 and became one of his best bowlers.
