WIFE ARRERESTED For Murdering Husband in Odisha Ganjam

Odisha murder news: A surprising case has come to light in Ganjam district of Odisha, where a 38 -year -old woman has been arrested for killing her husband. The police gave this information on Thursday (June 19). According to the police, the incident took place in Mundamarai village of Dharkote police station area on Wednesday.

The woman confesses her crime

Inspector Chandrika Swain, in -charge of Dharkote police station, said on Thursday that the accused has been identified as Anjana Nayak and has been arrested. She has confessed to strangling her 40 -year -old husband Amar Nayak in the house. After receiving information about the murder, the police took him into custody for questioning. Swain claimed that he had confessed his crime during interrogation.

Used to beat husband and wife- police

Police said that Amar Nayak was addicted to alcohol and used to assault his wife for the last few years. On Wednesday morning, Amar assaulted his wife after allegedly a sharp debate. Police said that when the woman strangled her, she died on the spot.

Amar was a daily wage laborer. they have two children. His 20 -year -old daughter was married, while the 18 -year -old son was not at home at the time of the incident. Police said that after the FIR of Amar’s elder brother Tuna Nayak, the police reached the spot and recovered the body from the house. Station in -charge Chandrika Swain said that Anjana was initially detained for questioning, but later she accepted the murder. Further investigation is going on by filing a case under the section of IPC in the case.
