The Delhi High Court, while hearing a petition filed against the demolition notice issued by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in Batla House area, has imposed an interim stay on the demolition action. The court has also sought a demarcation report from DDA. The next hearing of this case has been fixed on 10 July.
The petitioner told the court that his property has no connection with measles number 279, but DDA has issued a demolition notice considering it as part of the same measles.
Court also sought a dimarkation report from DDA
On behalf of DDA, it was said that the order of demolition related to measles number 279 came from the Supreme Court and he has taken action on the construction made in the same measles only. No notice has been given regarding the construction on other Khasras.
High court interim prohibit DDA action
The court has asked the DDA to submit a clear dimarkation report to be clear whether the demolition process is limited to the disputed measles only. Let me tell you, even before this, on more than a dozen petitions related to Batla House area, the High Court had imposed an interim stay on the DDA action and issued notices. At present, the hearing on two other petitions has been postponed till Monday. The next proceedings of the court are considered important in the case.
