The Indian Air Force and Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) once again proved that duties for them are not only limited to the safety of boundaries, but it also plays an important role in saving people’s lives.
On the night of 18 June, under the Mission, a highly sensitive and life -saving mission, the Indian Air Force (IAF) transported three important organs and two kidneys safely and rapidly from the Command Hospital in Pune to the Army Hospital (Research and Referral -R&R) of Delhi.
The person declared brain dead donated
These limbs were donated by the family of a serving soldier, who was declared brain-dad. This operation was carried out overnight. Under the mission, the Indian Air Force transport aircraft was deployed between Pune to Delhi and the time limit of organ transplant was successfully completed. Many people got new life from this mission of the army.

This joint campaign was led by the Indian Air Force and the Armed Forces Medical Service which shows the commitment of Service Beyond Self beyond their sense of dedication and service. This mission once again shows that India’s armed forces are playing a leading role in not only war, but also in human service.
