He had asked him to clarify in it why his official visit was not approved. In a post on X, he said that the Ministry of External Affairs has canceled its earlier decision by taking a “U-turn” and has approved them for the journey.
Priyank Kharge, son of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, was going to visit America from 14 June to 27 June. He was about to represent the Government of Karnataka at the ‘Bio 2025 International Conference’ to be held in Boston and ‘Design Automation Conference (DAC) in San Francisco. A letter of two pages written to the Foreign Minister
He on Thursday, Foreign Minister S.K. Wrote a two -page letter to Jaishankar, in which he said that his visit was aimed at drawing investment in Karnataka, creating employment opportunities and strengthening international cooperation. Priyank Kharge wrote in the letter, “Preventing one of the world’s largest technology clusters and a cabinet minister from fulfilling his official obligations without any clarification is a serious concern. It is not only against the interests of the state, but also weakens the spirit of cooperative federalism.”
Priyank is going to participate in which program?
He further said in his letter that the journey was set around two important international forums – BIO International Convention (Boston) and Design Automation Conference (San Francisco). Along with this, official meetings were scheduled with many top companies, universities and institutions, in which they were about to find cooperation, attract investment and make jobs for the state.
He wrote that “the absence of ministerial level on such an important global occasion weakens India’s participation, affects confidence among global partners and gives a message that we are not taking these areas seriously.” Kharge also added that “such trips are in line with national priorities and they directly support the broad vision of ‘developed India’ presented by the Prime Minister.”
Question on the transparency and continuity of the process!
He also alleged that he did not get any formal rejection letter from the ministry, which makes it even more difficult to make such schemes in future. Priyank Kharge further said, “This questions the transparency and continuity of the process, especially when these trips are completely official, regionally important and in national interest.” He finally urged the Ministry of External Affairs to handle such cases in a more transparent and advice -based manner in future.
