Kolkata: The tour of India against England is seen as the beginning of a new era in cricket, in which Gill -led team is playing without veteran Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

It is considered a difficult period of change, but its beginning has been excellent. Ganguly said that he was never worried about spontaneous changes because there is a lot of talent in India due to strong domestic structure.

Meanwhile, former captain Sourav Ganguly is very impressed by Shubman Gill’s ‘footwork’ under England’s difficult circumstances, he hopes that if the movement of his feet was excellent like the first day of the Test series in Leeds, then this young Indian captain will score a lot of runs even in foreign conditions.

Playing his first Test as captain, Gill played a brilliant innings of 127 unbeaten 127, which included many best drives. India ended the first day’s game for 359 runs for three wickets, which made England’s bowling attack weak.

Ganguly said in a special interview to PTI, ‘I am very happy to see the movement of their feet on foreign land, it has improved a lot on foreign soil. Shubman’s foot movement was fantastic, he made no mistake.

This former Indian captain said, ‘I think England should not have bowled on that wicket and he did not even bowl well. His (Gill’s) leg movement was fantastic, I hope it would be a permanent thing for him because if he continues to bat similar in England and foreign circumstances, he will score a lot of runs.
