The Andhra Pradesh Police has registered a case of hit and run against former state Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. The incident took place on 18 June. Superintendent of Police (SP) S Satish Kumar of Guntur district held a press conference on Sunday in the case.

He said that during the Guntur tour, a car involved in the former CM convoy crushed a 65 -year -old man. He died during treatment in the hospital. The person has been identified as Chili Singhiah.

He was a workers of Reddy’s party and belonged to Scheduled Castes. The wife of the deceased has filed a case under Section 106 (1) (death of someone due to negligence) of BNS.

The FIR also features car driver Ramanna Reddy, Personal Assistant’s Nageshwar Reddy, former MP YV Subba Reddy, former MLA Perni Nani and former minister Vidadala Rajini.

Videos of the incident appeared, the car was seen climbing on the neck of the person The former CM was going to meet a party worker’s family in Rentapalla village in Palnadu district on 18 June. He committed suicide last year. The accident occurred while passing through the Etukuru bypass.

Videos of the incident have also surfaced. It is seen that Reddy is riding on a car. People are welcoming them with flowers, the car is moving fast. Then some people nervous and indicate the driver to stop the car.

Another video shows that a man has come under the car. By the time people ask to stop the car, the car has climbed his neck.

After the case was cleared from the video of the incident, the police have also included Section 105 (culpable homicide) of BNS, Section 49 (Ukasana) in the FIR.
