The government of Pakistan is facing a lot of trouble at this time. On Friday, Pakistan said that US President Donald Trump would nominate him for the Nobel Prize for his efforts for peace establishment during the India-Pakistan struggle. But the very next day, the US attacked three Iran’s nuclear bases. After this attack, many leaders of Pakistan and well-known people expressed displeasure over the decision to recommend Trump’s name for the Nobel Prize from the government of Pakistan.
The recommendation letter signed by Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has already been sent to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee in Norway.
But Pakistan’s decision raised questions when the US joined Israel’s attempt to ruin Iran’s nuclear program by bombing Iran’s Fordo, Isfahan and Natanj nuclear plants.
‘Trump’s claim to end war proved to be false’
Pakistan’s leading newspaper Dawn has said that many big leaders of the country have demanded a review of their decision in view of the recent attacks. Maulana Fazlur Rahman, the major senior politician of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has demanded that the government withdraw its decision.
Fazal told the workers at a party meeting in Murri on Sunday, ‘President Trump’s claim of peace has proved to be false. The proposal of Nobel Prize should be withdrawn.
Taking a dig at Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, he said that ‘he was so happy to meet and lunch with the Pakistani ruler Trump’ that he recommended the US President to nominate for the Nobel Prize.
Fazal questioned, ‘Trump has supported Israeli attacks on Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Iran. How can this be a sign of peace? When there is blood of Afghans and Palestinians on the hands of America, how can he claim to be a supporter of peace? ‘
Trump had promoted himself as a ‘peace -making’ who would use his dialogue skills to end wars in Ukraine and Gaza, but both struggles are still going on after five months of his presidency.
‘Trump deliberately waged an illegal war’
Former Pakistan Senator Mushahid Hussain wrote on X, ‘Since Trump is no longer a potential peace, but there is a leader who has deliberately waged an illegal war, so the Government of Pakistan should now review their Nobel nomination, it should be canceled!’
He said that Trump Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli are caught in the trap of war lobby, and are sitting in the biggest mistake of their President’s period. He said, ‘Trump will now preside over the fall of America!’
In another post, Mushahid strongly condemned the US attacks on Iran, saying that Trump ‘cheated and broke his promise not to start a new war’.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MP Ali Muhammad Khan wrote on his X account, Pakistan should reconsider its decision.
Rauf Hasan, head of PTI political think tank, said that this decision of the government is now ‘the reason for embarrassment for those who played an important role in taking this decision’.
Hasan took a sarcasm at the government and said, “Therefore it is said that validity can neither be purchased nor gifted.”
Former senator Afrasiab Khattak said, “The Pakistani ruling elite class adopted in the nomination of President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize is not an ideal conduct in international diplomacy. It was the most embarrassing to announce the nomination a few hours before Trump’s order to bomb the Iranian nuclear plants.
Jamaat-e-Islami chief Naimur Rahman has said that this decision ‘reduces our national dignity and respect’.
Former Pakistan Ambassador to America Maliha Lodhi called the move “unfortunate” and said that this decision is not the decision of the public.
