After this, these were constantly getting requests to increase the deadline, keeping in mind that the government has extended the cut off date for three months to 30 September.

With this decision of the central government, central employees will now get more time to choose an option in UPS-NPS and they will be able to take decisions on it thoughtfully. The application window for Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) by the government was started on 1 April 2025 this year and it was scheduled to close on 30 June 2025. Now the chances of extending it beyond September 30 are less visible. In such a situation, if a person does not apply under this scheme till a new deadline, then he may have to bear the loss, because no application made after this will be accepted.

It is worth noting that the UPS Scheme launched by the Central Government has been designed to provide financial benefits to such people, who have served for at least 10 years as central government employees. If you look at its benefits, then the benefit of a lump sum pension will be given by calculating six months average in it and calculations on the basis of dearness allowance.
