On June 25, at 12:01 pm, Indian citizens, who arrived in New Delhi from Mashhad, came out with Tirnanga in their hands.
The Indian Embassy in Iran on Tuesday said that it was stopping the evacuation launched during the military conflict between Iran and Israel, as there was a ceasefire between the two countries. The Dutwas has closed the desk opened to register new names for the evacuation.
However, in a post on X, the embassy wrote that India is closely monitoring the situation and if Indians are in any way, they will change their strategy.
In view of the increasing enmity between the two countries, India started Operation Indus last week to bring back Indians from Iran and Israel.
At 12.01 pm on the night of 25 June, 282 Indians reached Delhi from Mashhad. With this, the total number of people extracted under Operation Indus increased to 2,858.
Under Operation Sindhu, India on Tuesday evacuated more than 1100 citizens. With this, the number of people extracted under Operation Indus has increased to 3170.
There are over 9 million Indians in 6 Gulf countries. The maximum number of 35.5 lakh UAE, 26 lakh Saudi Arabia, 11 lakh Kuwait, 7.45 lakh Qatar, 7.79 lakh Oman and 3.23 lakh are in Bahrain.
The embassy said – Wherever you are, keep an eye on the situation…
In the post, the embassy advised the Indians who are planning to get out of the mashhad to stay there and keep an eye on the news. The embassy asked the people already staying in the hotel to go to the Sadr hotel as the mission would vacate the rooms in the rest of the hotels.
The post stated, “Embassy will keep the rooms at Sadr Hotel for 2 more nights (on 26 June for checkout time). This will also give citizens a time to ensure that the situation in Iran is becoming normal.”
The statement also stated that if an Indian needs advice or assistance, they can contact through Telegram Channel or Helpline. These channels will be open for the next few days.
