Rishabh Pant has rocked the ICC Test rankings after scoring two centuries in the headingley test. Pant has created history in the Test by securing 800 rating points. Pant did the work that MS Dhoni could not do.

New Delhi. Rishabh Pant, who scored a century in both innings of the Handingley Test match, has created history in the ICC rankings. Left -handed batsman Pant has become India’s first wicketkeeper to score 800 rating points in the Test rankings. He scored 134 runs in the first innings of the Test match played against England in the headingley while contributed by 118 runs in the second innings. Pant became the second wicketkeeper to score a century in both innings of Test after Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower. Andy Flower did this feat in 2001.

Joe Root is at the top as the world’s number 1 Test batsman. While his compatriot Harry Brook remains in second place. India’s captain Shubman Gill has jumped five places to 20th place in the first innings. India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah remains number one Test bowler. He took 5 wickets in the first innings of the Handingley Test. England’s Ben Stokes, by contributing with both the bat and the ball, climbed three places to secure the number one place.

Meanwhile, Player of the Match, who played 62 and 149 runs in England’s five -wicket win in Leeds, has climbed up five places to eighth position in the rankings. Docket’s partner Oli Pope (three places up three places) and Jamie Smith (eighth place up 27th) have also benefited in the ranking. India’s captain Shubman Gill climbed up five places to 20th position after scoring a century in the first innings.
