After the Leeds Test match played between India and England, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ranking on 25 June (Wednesday). Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and English opener Ben Docket have benefited in the ICC Test rankings. Rishabh Pant scored a century (134 & 118) in both innings from India in the Leeds Test match. Rishabh Pant is the second wicketkeeper who scored two centuries in a single Test match. Earlier, only Andy Flower of Zimbabwe was able to do this. On the other hand, Ben Docket was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for 62 and 149 runs innings.
Now Rishabh Pant has climbed one notth in the batting rankings of Test cricket to seventh. This is the best ranking of Rishabh Pant. Like Rishabh Pant, Ben Docket has also achieved the best ranking of his career. Docket has jumped five places to reach the eighth position. Oli Pope of England has come up at number 19. At the same time, Jamie Smith jumped eight places and reached 27th position.
The king of Bumrah-Root maintains
Indian captain Shubman Gill scored a century in the first innings of the Leeds Test, due to which he has also risen five places to number 20. Former England captain Joe Root is still at number-1 in the Test batting rankings, while Harry Brook of England is second. Some players made headlines with their performance in the first Test match that left the draw between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Mushfiqur Rahim had played a brilliant innings of 163 runs in the Gaul Test, due to which he has jumped at number 28 to jump 11 places. At the same time, Najmul Hussain Shanto scored two centuries in this match. Shanto has now risen up 21 places to number 29.
On the other hand, there is no special change in Test bowling rankings. Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets hall in the first innings in the Leeds Test match. Bumrah still remains at the top. England captain Ben Stokes has received an all -round performance in the Leeds Test. He jumped three places and is now fifth in the list of all -rounders.
The T20I rankings have changed slightly due to the tri -series held between Scotland, Nepal and the Netherlands. In the batsmen list, Michael Levits of the Netherlands have climbed up 16 places to number 14. While Scotland’s Brandon McMulan climbed 20 places to jointly moved to 38th position. In the bowling rankings, Mark Wat 2 of Scotland has risen up to number 38. Nepali spinner Lalit Rajbanshi also jumped 29 places and now he is at number 54.
