Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday sarcasted senior party leader Shashi Tharoor for repeated praise to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that Modi is the first for some people. Kharge’s remarks have come at a time when there is an open differences between Tharoor and Congress.
Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor was elected by the central government to lead the all -party delegation for Operation Sindoor. Now Kharge targeted Tharoor and PM Modi regarding this.
Speaking at a press conference, he said, “Shashi Tharoor’s English is very good. That is why he has been kept in the Congress Working Committee. I said in Gulberg that we speak in one voice, we are standing together for the country. We were standing together in Operation vermilion. We said that the country is first, but some people say that Modi is first, what should we do?”
He alleged that the Election Commission has become a puppet under the Modi government. He said, “Narendra Modi says that I am winning the election. When Rahul Gandhi raised the question, the ED had no answer. At present, the Election Commission has become a puppet of Modi.”
Kharge further said, “Narendra Modi is campaigning in Bihar. Hey, you are not winning the election, the machine is winning. The Prime Minister has released a new circular by the government on the completion of 50 years of the Emergency. It says that the Constitution was destroyed during the Emergency and we have restored faith in the Constitution. Every state should celebrate the Constitution Day.”
The Congress President said that those who have not contributed to the independence of the country, have been talking against the Constitution. The BJP is afraid of the ‘Save Constitution Save Yatra’. Those who fail to rule, there is no answer on inflation to unemployment, there is no answer on demonetisation. You do not come to the all -party meeting, by calling a meeting at Pahalgam, you went to the rally. “
