Iran israel conflict: The tension between Iran and Israel is constantly on boil, but now a report of the Washington Post has revealed the planning behind this confrontation. According to the report, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to attack Iran before meeting US President Donald Trump in April. The attack was not part of the strategy made months ago, not based on any sudden intelligence information.
Preparations for the attack on Iran were already running
In October 2024, the Israeli Air Force and intelligence agencies demolished Iran’s aerial security system and Hizbullah was also severely damaged. Israeli agencies formulated a hit list of Iranian nuclear scientists and military officers, making it clear that the attack was just waiting for the time. By March 2025, Israel had reached the conclusion whether America would have to attack Iran by June.
Netanyahu’s order- “Eliminate scientists”
On Israeli TV, Netanyahu said in clear terms, “We will target scientists and finish them.” Mossad had monitored Iranian scientists for years. Drone and missile launchers were sent to Iran under a secret operation, killing at least 10 senior scientists. Also, Iran’s nuclear and missile programs were deeply damaged. The attack was not an immediate reaction, but the implementation of the decision taken months ago, which was finalized only two weeks ago.
America’s opposition and Trump’s separate opinion
Although Israeli intelligence agencies suspected that Iranian scientists were re -working on nuclear weapons, the American intelligence community believed that Tehran had not given any such order. Despite this, Donald Trump dismissed these assaults, saying that Iran is “very close” to acquiring atomic bombs.
Former Israeli intelligence officer Danny Citrinovich criticized the decision, saying, “We should have given a chance to the diplomatic path as well. The operation has given us military success, but its strategic risk is very heavy.”
Netanyahu’s only goal for 30 years
Netanyahu has been considering Iran’s nuclear program as a threat to Israel’s security for the last three decades. One of his advisors even said that “Most of the scientists we were watching are now in hell.”
