The iPhone was lost in a passenger flight. The passenger feared that his phone had been stolen. After this, he started looking for his phone of Find My iPhone feature. In this, the signal of his phone was found from such a place, after which the airline fired the entire cabin crew including the aircraft pilot and air hostess.
Michael Tajandara was flying from Jakarta to Melbourne on 6 June. His mobile was stolen in Garuda Indonesia flight. He estimates that he kept the phone in a pocket behind the front seat. After the takeoff, his seat changed and he moved to another seat.
Signal was coming from the hotel where the crew members were staying
Some time he remembered his iPhone. When he went to the place where the iPhone kept, the phone was missing from there. Later, when he wanted to find out his lost phone using Apple’s Find My iPhone, his handset was pinged near Southbank Pramenade in Melbourne, which was just a short distance from the Mercury Hotel. This was the same hotel where the airline employees were sleeping.
The location of mobile was showing in the river
The search for the signal did not stop here, but it moved towards Ivan Walker Bridge. Tajandara revealed that in the last update, his phone was immersed in the Yara River in South-Central Victoria, Australia. That is, whoever stole the phone, he first went to the hotel where the crew members of the flight stayed. Then he left from there and threw it into the river.

This shocking incident has created a stir in Indonesia. The head of the Department of Commercial and Cargo of Garuda Indonesia, Ad R. Susardi said on June 9 that when the iPhone had disappeared, the crew on duty has been seated until they find out what happened.
Airline committed to help passengers
The airline spokesperson told Indonesia Business Post that we are in constant touch with the concerned passenger and committed to cooperate them. The airline also revealed that they have sent a representative to Melbourne to help Tajandara, which will help them in filing a police report. Mr. Susardi offered peace from the airline, apologizing for the incident.
