Rajnath singh sco meeting: India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived to attend a meeting of the Ministers of Defense of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Kingdao city of China. From this platform, he said clearly to Pakistan and China that India will not compromise against terrorism.
Open warning given in front of Pakistan
Pakistan Defense Minister Khwaja Asif was also present in the meeting. Rajnath Singh heard the Pakistani leader very well on the issue of terrorism in front of him. Referring to Operation Sindoor, Rajnath Singh said that those who shed the blood of innocents will not be spared. He said that some countries support terrorism and have made terrorism a part of their policy across the border.
Rajnath Singh, while referring to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, said that on 22 April 2025, a terrorist organization named ‘The Resistance Front’ killed innocent tourists, including a Nepali citizen. He said that this organization is related to Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is already in the terrorist list of the United Nations.
Terrorism and peace cannot run together
The Defense Minister said that fundamentalism, extremism and terrorism are the biggest challenges of today. He reiterated that peace and terrorism cannot live together and decisive action is necessary for this. He called upon all SCO countries that he would have to fight unitedly against terrorism. Rajnath Singh clearly said that the countries who have shelters terrorists and promoted terrorism across the border, their double attitude cannot be tolerated anymore. He said that SCO should openly criticize such countries and take a strict stand against terrorism.
In his address, he said that no matter how big any country is, cannot work alone. Everyone will have to work together with dialogue and cooperation. It also shows India’s ancient thinking ‘Survey Jana Sukhino Bhavantu’, which means everyone’s welfare.
Bilateral meeting may be held with China and Russia
During this visit of Rajnath Singh, there is also a possibility of a separate bilateral meeting with the Chinese and Russian defense ministers. This journey is also important because it is the first visit to a senior Indian minister after the Indo-China border dispute in May 2020. On reaching Rajnath Singh’s Kingdao, India’s Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat welcomed him at the airport. Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong June personally welcomed Rajnath Singh and a group photo was also taken with the ministers of all countries before the meeting.
Before reaching China, Rajnath Singh had said on the social media platform ‘X’ that he is committed to sharing India’s vision on global peace and security and working towards taking steps against terrorism.
