Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray will take out a joint rally in Mumbai on 5 July amidst the ongoing controversy over Hindi language in Maharashtra. Earlier, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader announced the rally on 6 July and the MNS chief on 7 July.
On the other hand, NCP (Sharad Gut) Chief Sharad Pawar has also supported Thackeray brothers. Pawar said- Hindi should not be compulsory from class 1 in Maharashtra. If a new language is to be started, it should be started only after class 5.
In fact, the Maharashtra government made Hindi the third compulsory language in April this year. After the protest, he changed the decision. Students studying from class 1 to 5 can choose other Indian languages apart from Hindi as the third language.
Uddhav said- not against Hindi, it is not right to impose it
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said that the decision of the Mahayuti government is like declaring ‘Language Emergency’ in the state. The former Chief Minister said that his party does not oppose Hindi language, but is against imposing it in Maharashtra.
He said that by doing this, Mahayuti wants to ‘poison harmony’ among Marathi and Hindi speaking people for her politics. Uddhav US further said that the Shiv Sena (UBT) will continue its protest against the government’s decision until it is withdrawn.
Raj Thackeray said- Government knows what Maharashtra wants
On the other hand, MNS chief Raj Thackeray said that his party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) will take out a rally. The government should know what Maharashtra wants. Maharashtra should show its full strength. I will also talk to other political parties. He said that it is a conspiracy to reduce the importance of Marathi in Maharashtra.
When asked if he would invite Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders to join the protests, Thackeray said that all political parties would be contacted. He said that Maharashtra is greater than any fight. However, the next day of Thackeray’s reply, it has been agreed to take out a joint rally in both parties.
Pawar said- it is not right to put the burden of additional languages on children NCP (Sharad faction) chief Sharad Pawar said on Thursday that Hindi should not be compulsory with class 1 in Maharashtra. He emphasized that if a new language is to be started, it should be started only after class 5.
Pawar said, there is no objection to starting Hindi after class 5. A large section of the country speaks Hindi and there is no reason to ignore this language completely. “However, Pawar said that it is not appropriate to put the burden of additional languages on young children.
