According to sources, the Vigilance team was aware that important documents related to the case were present in a house in Majithia. But the crowd was provoked and the team was attacked to intentionally stop the search.
Now another FIR can be lodged against Majithia on the basis of these allegations.
Majithia arrested from Amritsar
Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested Bikram Singh Majithia in 2021 at 11:30 am on June 25 in a disproportionate assets case related to the NDPS case. Majithia lawyers claim that the report was submitted to Vigilance at 10:30 pm on June 24, while the next day Majithia was registered and arrested at 4:30 in the morning.
At the same time, Majithia was produced in the Mohali court on Thursday amid tight security. During this, government lawyers demanded 12 days remand, but the court gave 7 days remand. Now the next hearing of this case will be held on 2 July. However, Majithia Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kaler says that Majithia speaks against the government, due to which this action has been taken.
He said that the government says something in the Supreme Court, while the district is making some more arguments in the court. At the same time, he says that companies whose vigilance is claiming. All that companies are recognized by the Government of India.
30 mobiles and a lot of goods recovered
When Vigilance arrested Majithia, at that time 26 places associated with Majithia were raided. During this time, 29 mobile phones, 5 laptops, 3 iPads, 2 desktops, 8 diaries and other documents have been seized from Majithia’s house. At the same time, Vigilance said that Majithia has illegally made assets worth 540 crores.
There is a lot of cash deposits of Rs 161 crore in bank accounts of companies controlled by Majithia. A transaction of Rs 141 crore was done through suspected foreign institutions. The financial statements of the company revealed an amount of Rs 236 crore without any information and clarification.
