New Delhi. Now a rule has been launched in cricket which will give relief to the players and teams but can also create problems. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the new rules on Friday. In this, a minimum seven -day ‘stand down’ time has been fixed for the players who are injured by ‘Kanakashan’. Apart from this, a new rule of wide ball is also included in ODI and T20 matches.
The ICC has made 2 changes in the context of ‘Concisition’ (head injury) protocol. The first is that now the teams will have to name the ‘Convention’ replacement player for every match. This will reduce the benefits of domestic teams. Earlier it used to be seen that the visiting team had fewer options for it. On the other hand, the domestic team used to use better players many times in the convention replacement.
So the match will not play for seven days
The second change in the ‘Kanakashan’ rule is of seven -day stand down. The ICC said, ‘In case of conversion during the match, the concerned player will have to follow the minimum’ stand down ‘period of at least seven days before the return. This change was made after the recommendation of the Medical Advisory Committee so that the safety of the players can be taken care of.
The ICC said that the trial of these two new rules by full members countries will start from October 2025 to six months. It also includes a new ‘wide-ball’ rule for ODI and T20 matches which are being brought to help the bowler. The ICC said, “While putting the ball in the trial, the position of the batsman’s feet will now be used as a reference point for the wide ball, even if the batsman later turns to the off side.” The ICC said, “Any leg -side ball that goes through the back of the batter’s feet and is out of the line, it can also be called wide.”
The playing XI will change after the match starts
Another rule is to be tried in the domestic first -class cricketing in which the teams can include another player in place after a player is seriously injured after being selected in the playing XI. The ICC said, “If a player gets seriously injured at any time after the match starts (including any match pre -practice), then he can be replaced by any player similar to that to play in the remaining part of the match.” The ICC has also implemented only one ball rules in Test cricket, changes in the rules of boundary catch and the 34th over in ODIs.
