A 24 -year -old student studying at South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata has accused three people of gangrape. The victim alleges that the incident occurred when she turned down the marriage proposal of the main accused Manjit Mishra (age 31 years). Manjit Mishra is the District General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress Students Council (TMCP) and an alumnus of the college. The victim has made very serious allegations in her complaint. Please tell that the forensic team has reached South Calcutta Law College. The team will visit the spot and inspect, as well as collecting samples from the crime site.
The accused erupted when the wedding offer rejected
In her complaint lodged with the police, the victim told that Manjit Mishra pressured her to marry, but she refused as she was already in a relationship. After this, Manjit threatened him that he would harm his boyfriend and implicate his parents in false cases.
These three accused were involved in the incident
According to the complaint, on June 25, the three accused- Manjit Mishra (age-31 years), first year students Zab Ahmed (age-19 years) and Pramit Mukherjee (age- 20 years) forcibly took him to a room in the college campus. The victim was assaulted. The complaint said that the accused tried to force the victim with the intention of having sex.
‘Roe-Gidgidai, but the accused did not listen to one’
The victim said that she denied and strongly opposed to save herself. Pushed the accused back. Cried and said again and again that let me go. Also said that I have a boyfriend, but they did not agree. According to the complaint, the victim touched the feet of the main accused, but she did not let me go. They forcefully took to the guard room, took off her clothes and raped her.
Threatened by making videos, guard remains mute spectators
The victim’s student alleges that Manojo made a video of her during the rape and threatened that if she told anyone something, she would make the video public. When he tried to leave from there, an attempt was also made to attack him with a hockey stick. He said that he started having panic and breathing, but no one helped him. The main gate of the college was closed and the guards also remained mute spectators. The student asked the accused to take the hospital, but they did not help. The victim wrote in the complaint that ‘I want justice’.
Created political pressure, talked about proving loyalty
According to the complaint, the student was invited to the union room of the Students Union along with 7 other people before the gang rape incident, where the main accused Manjit Mishra spoke about the unit, his personal life and his power. Then Pramit Mukherjee came out of him and asked if he was loyal to Manojj and unit. The student said that she was appointed Girls Secretary, so she expressed support. After this, while entering the union room back, Manjit asked if Pramit Mukherjee had explained everything, so he replied that yes Dada, I am always with the unit, do not worry.
When did the incident happen, how the arrest of the accused?
The incident took place on 25 June in the college campus between 7:30 pm and 10:50 pm. The girl came to college at 12 noon to fill the examination form and was initially sitting in the union room. The accused later closed the main gate and forcibly took the victim to the guard room and committed the crime. The three accused have been arrested after the FIR was registered at the town police station. Manojit Mishra and Zab Ahmed were caught near Talbgan Crossing on 26 June, while Pramit Mukherjee was arrested from his house on the morning of 27 June. Mobile phones of all three have also been confiscated.
