Metro tickets Book in 120 Days Advance with rail tickets IRCTC DMRC and CRIS Collaborated

Indian Railways, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have announced a partnership under the One India One Ticket initiative to improve the experience of mainline railway and metro passengers in the Delhi/NCR region. DMRC QR code-based tickets can now be booked on the IRCTC website and mobile application, the full version of which will be launched soon, it said on Wednesday.

According to the statement, metro tickets can be booked up to 120 days in advance and will be valid for 4 days. Currently, single journey tickets of Delhi Metro can be booked with validity for the same day only. “Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), DMRC and CRIS have joined hands in this initiative for better travel experience of main line railway and metro passengers in Delhi NCR region, in line with the Government of India’s initiative ‘One India One. ‘Ticket’ can be promoted.

The beta version of DMRC QR code based ticket was launched on Wednesday, which will allow main line railway passengers to book DMRC QR code tickets on the IRCTC website and Android version of mobile application. One DMRC QR code per passenger will be printed/available in the electronic reservation slip of IRCTC. On this occasion, IRCTC CMD Sanjay Kumar Jain and DMRC MD Vikas Kumar said that ‘On the success of the beta version, the regular version of IRCTC-DMRC QR code ticket will be launched soon.’

He said, “With this facility, DMRC-IRCTC QR code-based tickets will be synchronized with the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) of Indian Railways, allowing passengers to book metro tickets up to 120 days in advance. Will be valid for a total of 4 days from 1 day before the date of journey and 2 days after the date of journey on Delhi Metro.

This initiative will improve the experience of rail passengers by allowing them to book Delhi Metro tickets on the rail ticket confirmation page, linked to the station falling in the Delhi/NCR region. Passengers can also book Delhi Metro tickets later through the booking history page. Apart from this, the facility of easy cancellation will also be available. With this step, railway passengers will get rid of the hassle of standing in long queues while buying DMRC tickets at Delhi Metro stations.
