US Trade Policy 2025: US President Donald Trump has made it clear that the tariff deadline of July 9 is not a confirmed date. He said that America can increase it and less, it will all depend on how the talks with other countries go on business.
US President Trump made a big claim
Talking to the media at the White House, Trump gave an open warning. He said, “We can change the decision whenever you want. Can take it forward or do it quickly. I want to hurry and send a letter directly to everyone- congratulations, now you are paying 25 percent tax.” Last week, while the discussion of America was over the attack on Iran and tax bill, now the Trump administration has increased the focus on trade.
US Finance Minister Scott Besant said this
On Thursday, the US sent a new trade proposal to the European Union, while India has sent its delegation to Washington for trade talks. At the same time, US Finance Minister Scott Besant has said that business agreements may take some time, but many important agreements can be completed by Labor Day (early September).
Talking to the Fox Business Network, Besant said, “We are getting proposals from many countries. We have 18 important business partners. If we finalize the agreement with 10 or 12 of these and we are also interacting with countries with 20 more economies, then it is possible that we complete the business process till Labor Day.”
Tariff discount will end on July 8
It is worth noting that in April 2025, US President Donald Trump had announced the implementation of the recipe rifle on almost all foreign imports. Under this, the goods on which more than 10% tariffs were to be imposed, they were given a discount of 90 days so that the country could make agreements through mutual negotiations. This discount is ending on 8 July.
However, by the end of May, Trump’s stance became more strict. He warned to impose import duty up to 50% on goods coming from the European Union. EU has already faced American tariff in several stages.
