India Under -19 team created history in Hov.

New Delhi. India Under -19 team, captained by Ayush Mhatre, defeated England’s young team on the ground where Team India had never won before. On the strength of Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s rapid batting, India proved the target of 175 runs as dwarf and achieved it in 24 overs. This is the first win on any level of senior or junior from India on Hov’s County Cricket Ground. Earlier, the Indian team played the only match here in which it lost. Under the captaincy of Mohammad Azharuddin, India played the match 26 years ago where South Africa defeated India. After that Team India did not play the match there. During the 1999 ODI World Cup, the Indian team played the match there in which Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid were present.
Rocky Flintoff, son of Andrew Flintoff, who threatened to cut Yuvraj Singh in the T20 World Cup for England, scored 56 runs. But Rocky’s half -century could not work for the team. England scored 174 runs in 42.2 overs, batting first. Chasing the target, the Indian team started a bang due to Suryavanshi and Mhatre. Both scored 71 runs in the first 7 overs without any loss. But after his dismissal, Deputy Captain Abhigyan Kundu scored an unbeaten 45 runs to bring the team to the target. India won this match in just 24 overs and took a lead in the five -match series. The second ODI of the series will be played on 30 June.
Prior to this series, India got a chance to play a 50 -over practice match against England Lions. India Under -19 team defeated the hosts by 231 runs in this match. The Indian team hit 26 sixes in their innings. India scored 444 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs while batting first. In response, England’s Under -19 team could only manage 211 runs.
When will the matches be played
The second ODI of the 5 -match series will be played on June 30 in Northampton. The third ODI match will be held in Northampton on July 2, while the fourth July 5 Worster will be the fifth and the last ODI will be in Warsster on 7 July. The first multi-day match will be played on 12-Julai, while the second multi-day match will be played in Chemsford from July 20.
