Motihari’s Vibha has become the first e-voter in the country.
By -elections are being held for the municipal body in 42 municipalities of 26 districts of Bihar. E-voting has been arranged for voters who are unable to reach the booth. Registration was to be done in advance to get this facility. According to the Election Commission, more than 50 thousand people registered for e-voting in the local body. E-voting took place from 7 am to 1 pm. Migratory Biharis living in countries like Dubai, Qatar also voted through the app.
More than 80% of e -voting has taken place at 1 pm, while 35% of people have voted at the booth.
Voting is being held for 136 seats
Today, voting is being done for 136 seats of 6 municipal bodies in Bihar. In this, voting is being held on completion of the term of 3 municipal bodies. While by -elections are being held at the rest.
- The tenure has been completed in three Nagar Panchayat Naubatpur, Bikram, Khusarupur in Patna district. Elections are being held in all three.
- Voting is being done for 17 posts in Naubatpur. Which is 15 ward councilors, one chief councilor, one Deputy Chief Councilor.
- Bikram is voting for 16 seats, with 14 ward councilors, one chief councilor and one Deputy Chief Councilor.
- Khusroopur has 10 wards, for which elections are being held. It has 10 councilors, one chief councilor posts.
