The Gurugram branch of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action in a large case of fraud and forgery in the real estate area. ED has temporarily attached assets worth about ₹ 557.43 crore of Mahira Buildtech and Jar Buildwell companies.

Mahira is associated with Buildtech Company Samalkha, former Congress MLA Dharam Singh Chokkar and his family.
Please tell that some time ago ED also arrested Dharam Singh Chokkar from Delhi. This action has been taken on the basis of complaints related to fraud, forgery and money rigging from customers in real estate projects.
The ED has said that investigation is on and other revelations may also happen soon.
35 acres of fixed assets attached
This attachment under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 has been made against Mahira Infratech Private Limited (East of Messrs Sai Aina Farms Private Limited), Messrs Mahira Buildtech Private Limited and Messrs Jar Buildwell Private Limited, which are stated to be related to former MLA Dharm Singh Chokkar.
The attached properties include seven immovable assets (residential and business lands) of about 35 acres located in Sector 68, 63A, 103, 104, 92, 88B and 95 of Gurugram. Apart from this, fixed deposit receipts (FDRs) of about 97 lakh rupees associated with these companies have also been attached.
Had failed to give promised houses
ED investigation is based on several FIRs lodged by Gurugram police, alleging that these companies had obtained licenses for affordable housing projects by submitting fake documents and fake bank guarantee. These companies collected more than 616 crore rupees from more than 3,700 home buyers, but failed to give the promised houses.
Vikas Chhokkar is still absconding
The action took place after the previous attachment of Rs 81.07 crore taken in February 2024 and March 2025. The main accused in this case include Mahira Group promoter Sikander Singh, former MLA Dharam Singh Chokkar and Vikas Chokkar.
Alexander Singh was arrested in April 2024, while Dharam Singh Chokkar, who escaped six non-bailable warrants, was arrested in May 2025. Vikas Chhokkar is still absconding and a proclamation has been issued by the special court of Gurugram, where the case is under consideration.
