New Delhi. India defeated England by 97 runs in the first women’s T20. With this victory, the Indian team has been ahead 1-0 in the five-match series. The England team collapsed for 113 runs in 14.5 overs to chase the target of 211 runs kept by India. Acting captain Smriti Mandhana and debutant Mr. Charani played an important role in India’s victory. Mandhana scored an innings of 112 runs in batting, while in bowling, Mr. Charani destroyed the batting order of England by 4 wicket hall. The England women’s team playing in her house easily surrendered to the Indian bowlers.
Smriti Mandhana played 112 runs
Earlier, India scored a huge score of 210 runs for 5 wickets thanks to the first T20 International century of acting captain Smriti Mandhana (112). Mandhana took an aggressive attitude from the beginning and faced 62 balls and hit 15 fours and three sixes in his innings. His innings is India’s best innings in T20 International. Mandhana thus overtaken Harmanpreet Kaur’s innings of 103 runs.
Mandhana-Shefali shared a 77-run partnership
Apart from Mandhana, Harleen Deol contributed 43 runs and Shefali Verma contributed 20 runs. In the absence of regular captain Harmanpreet, Mandhana and Shefali, who are leading the team, played a 77 -run participation in 8.3 overs for the first wicket. Even after Shefali was dismissed, Mandhana continued to bat in this rhythm and she shared a 94 -run partnership with Harleen (23 balls). Danny Wat Hodes gave a life to Harleen for 26 runs off the off -spinner Alice Capase. Mandhana did not give any chance to the England bowlers and he hit three fours in the balls of left -handed spinner Linsy Smith in the fourth over. He hit two sixes off the balls of left -arm spinner Sophie Eklestone in the seventh over.
