The police station of Ghaziabad, Vijayanagar police arrested two miscreants who were planning an ATM robbery and theft during the encounter on Saturday night. During this, one crook was injured by a police bullet, while the other was caught in an attempt to escape from the spot. The incident took place near Madhapur Tirahe when the police team checking late last night tried to stop a suspicious bike. Both the bike riders started running away after seeing the police and turned to the army ground. On chasing, the bike slipped and both the crooks fell. The police challenged for surrender, but the miscreants started firing on the police in response. In retaliation, one crook was injured by being shot, while the other was caught.
The injured crook has been identified as Kabir’s son Nawab, resident Badot, Baghpat. The police bullet hit his leg, which was admitted to the District MMG Hospital for treatment. When he was being taken for treatment after the encounter, he was seen groaning with pain, “I will not do any theft after today … leave me, I will not do it now!”

The second accused with Kabir, Sachin Chaudhary son Bijendra, native resident Bulandshahr, was arrested from the spot. Both miscreants used to steal motorcycles in the NCR area and carry out the incidents of ATM robbery. During interrogation, he confessed that with the help of gas cylinders and oxygen cylinders, ATMs used to cut cash and tried to cut an ATM in the area a day earlier, but they escaped from there without stealing.
According to the police, two criminals had gone out to target an ATM. But the police were arrested after the encounter. ACP Ritesh Tripathi said that the police have also recovered a motorcycle (up14EL4138), a small cylinder, an oxygen cylinder, pipe, matching, red chili powder, sharp weapon (Gadasa), 315 bore, a small cylinder (up14EL4138), a small cylinder, a pistol of 315 bore.
