Suicide attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province
At least 13 personnel of the security force died in a suicide attack on Saturday in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The media unit of the Pak Army gave this information. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement, “Terrorists launched a cow slaughter and planned attack, in which they targeted a convoy of security forces in Mir Ali region of North Waziristan district.” According to ISPR, a suicide bomber in Khadi village on Saturday morning hit the explosives-laden vehicle with a bomb disposal unit’s mine-resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle. He told that 14 civilians including women and children were injured in the attack, many of whom have been stated to be critical.
The deadliest incidents in northern Waziristan
Sources said that curfew was imposed in the area due to military movement at the time of the incident. Security agencies have launched a relief campaign after the explosion. He said that Usud al-Harb, a terrorist group associated with Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, has taken responsibility for this attack. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has strongly condemned the suicide attack. The Chief Minister said, “We salute the brave security personnel and their families who have sacrificed for the country.”
This incident is being described as one of the most deadly events in North Waziristan in recent months and has created serious concerns about the security situation in the region. After the breakdown of the ceasefire agreement between the government and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in November 2022, there has been an increase in terrorist incidents in Pakistan, especially in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.
