Election Commission Soon Upload 2003 Bihar Electoral Roll On Its Website Help Nearly 4 96 Crore Voters Bihar Elections

The Election Commission will soon upload the 2003 voter list of Bihar on its website, so that around 4.96 crore voters whose names are included in it, can remove the relevant part to engage with the nomination form for special intensive revision of the voter list.

According to the instructions issued by the Election Commission to Bihar’s electoral system, 4.96 crore voters, which are 60 percent of the total voters and who were included in the special comprehensive revision list of 2003, do not need to submit any documents in support to prove their date of birth or birth place, provided that they attach the relevant share of the voter list after revision.

The remaining three crore i.e. about 40 percent of the voters will have to provide one of the 11 listed documents to certify their birth place or date of birth. An official said that the original process is that each of the remaining three crore voters should be identified, only then their names should be included in the list.

What did Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar say?
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said on Sunday that special intensive revision will ensure that no eligible voter is deprived of the list and no unqualified voter is part of the list. There are more than 7.89 crore voters in 243 assembly seats in Bihar. Assembly elections are to be held in the state in October-November of this year.

According to the instructions of the Election Commission, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of each assembly constituency will be responsible for ensuring that no eligible citizen is left while doing revision work and no unqualified person is included in the voter list.

ERO will satisfy themselves about the eligibility of each person before entering the name in the voter list. The final intensive revision in Bihar was done in 2003, the qualification date was 1 January 2003.
