The Maharashtra government has withdrawn its revised government order (GR) related to the three-language policy. On this, the statement of MNS chief Raj Thackeray has come out, he reacted to the cancellation of both mandates related to the three-language policy by the state government and said that the attempt to impose Hindi language has been completely thwarted by the Marathi public sentiments. Raj Thackeray said that this is not late understanding, but it is the effect of the anger of Marathi people that the government had to retreat. Why the government was so dogmatic about Hindi, and where this pressure was from it, it is still a mystery.
MNS raised voice
Raj Thackeray clearly stated that MNS had started raising voice on this issue from April 2025, after which other political parties and organizations also came forward against it. When the MNS announced to take out the non-political front, many other organizations and parties expressed their desire to join it. He said that if this front had come out, the memories of the collective Maharashtra movement would have been refreshed.
‘Such a policy is no longer tolerated’
Raj Thackeray warned that now the government has again formed a committee again, I am clearly saying that whether the report of the committee comes or not, but such a policy will not be tolerated again, and if the government has made such a conspiracy again in the name of the report, then this committee will not be able to work in Maharashtra.
‘Such unity should be seen even further’
He said that now the Marathi people should also learn that their own people are engaged in eradicating their language and existence. There is no language nor affinity for such people. Raj Thackeray once again congratulated the Marathi people and that it is our wish to become the language of Marathi language knowledge and global affairs. This time the unity that was seen, it should continue to be seen even further.
Efforts to fight Marathi and non-Marathi failed: Uddhav
At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray said that the efforts made to fight Marathi and non-Marathi people among themselves have completely failed. He said that the controversy that arose in Maharashtra about three language policy is the result of the government’s senselessness. Uddhav clarified that my government had never approved three language policy, I was given a report on it, but I could not even read it and my government was dropped before that.
CM Fadnavis accused Uddhav
CM Devendra Fadnavis claimed that when Uddhav Thackeray was the Chief Minister, he had accepted the recommendations of Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar Committee, in which it was asked to implement three-language policy from class 1 to 12. He said that a committee was also constituted to implement this policy at the same time.
What is the matter?
The Maharashtra government on Sunday withdrew both the government orders (GRS) related to the Three Language Policy amid the increasing opposition to making Hindi language mandatory in schools in Maharashtra from first to fifth grade. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made this announcement at a press conference in Mumbai. He informed that a new committee has been formed under the chairmanship of educationist Dr. Narendra Jadhav, which will decide how to implement the language policy ahead.
